Abstract

The Trust-Serv, trust negotiation framework for Web services, is studied. Trust negotiation systems avoid several problems facing traditional access control models such as discretionary access control (DAC) and mandatory access control (MAC). An extended state machine model is also introduced to associate policies with resources. Trust-Serv is supported by lifecycle management and automated runtime enforcement tools.
