Abstract

An improved method is proposed for determination of the capacitance current and double layer capacitance of stationary electrodes in solutions of different electrolytes from cyclic current - voltage curves. The method takes account of the different values of the Faraday component of the residual current during the cathodic and anodic potential sweeps in cyclic voltammetry. The accuracy of the proposed method was checked by comparison with the results from measurement by the impedance method.
