Abstract
Method for measuring the time characteristics and light yield of scintillations materials using powder-like samples excited by β, γ and α particles from radioactive sources is described. Measurement results are presented of the characteristics of the 40 following scintillation compounds: yttrium silicate and scandium borate activated by cerium, strontium phosphate activated by europium, strontium silicate, calcium silicate and mixed calcium-magnesium silicate activated by cerium and others. The most light yield when β and γ exciting has scandium borate activated by cerium.
