Abstract
A mechanotron pressure transducer was used for determination of the energy deposited by a pulsed electron beam in the surrounding gas phase under the conditions of nonuniform energy distribution in the working chamber. It is shown that the pressure jump detected by the mechanotron is determined for the most part by the value of deposited energy and is weakly dependent on the ratio of the active (excited) and buffer volumes, provided that the active volume is not less than half of the total chamber volume.
