The mechanism of the high-temperature destruction of a typed rubber-like, not reinforced, heat shield material in a field of mass inertial forces was experimentally investigated. The authors established a dependence between inertial overloads, acting on the material, and the rate of its high-temperature destruction. A strength limit value for the coke of the material investigated was obtained. A physical model was developed for the high-temperature destruction of such a heat shield material in the field of mass inertial forces.
