Abstract

Experimental results of the velocity measurement of the explosive decomposition in a powdered FTDO sample placed into glass capillary are presented. Samples were initiated by the pulsed neodymium laser light. Possibility of low threshold initiation of FTDO is exposed which is followed with the transition to detonation. The velocity of stable explosive decomposition comprised 9.4 ± 0.4 km/s. The obtained facts are discussed within the frames of hot spot initiation theory of explosion initiation.
