Measure of reliability tools for simulating electric power systems and alternative approach of their verification

Abstract

The results of study existing problem of validation electric power system simulators are contained in this paper. It is connected with using numerical solution of stiff nonlinear system of differential equations of high dimensionality, describing the processes in real electrical power systems for all possible normal, emergency and post-emergency conditions. Theoretical and practical results of impossible accuracy and reliable solutions of such system by using digital tools are given. Alternating approach called hybrid simulation for solution this problem is described. The created in the framework of this approach tool can be serve as a source of reference data and used for the validation of digital simulation tools.
