Abstract

The aim of the present work was to study experimentally the expansion factors in the range 80-300 K of ceramic dielectrics grades MK, GB-7 (high-alumina ceramics), UF-46 (mullite-corundum), SK-1, SNTs (Steatite), and L-24 (cordierite), untreated and exposed to neutrons; the chemical composition of the crystalline phases of these materials consists of compounds mainly with the ionic type of bond. Aluminosilicate glass phase was present in the composition of the materials. The measurements of the thermal expansion factors were made on a capacitance dilatometer.
