Peripheral administration of the μ-or κ-receptor agonists or σ-receptor antagonists produced a significant receptor-dependent increase in the ventricular fibrillation threshold in rats with postinfarction cardiosclerosis. The effect was not observed u̇pon administration of the ε-receptor agonist β-endorphin. The receptor and molecular mechanisms of the observed effects are discussed.
