Abstract
The shape of lasing and laser pulse duration of a copper vapor laser was analyzed by current restriction of storage capacitor discharge. Power supply was carried out from the high-voltage rectifier, allowing changing supply voltage within 1-10 kV. It was found that when laser was operated in a mode of discharge current restriction, it was possible to obtain pulse duration of 40 ns. A maximum power of the laser with restriction of a current through the discharge was 3 W with practical efficiency of 0.35%. It was predicted application of such mode of operation would allow improving of radiation parameters of a copper vapor laser.
