Abstract
In the paper, the kinetic equations for densification of high-alumina ceramics upon the sintering under isothermal and non-isothermal heating conditions are given. A structure-energy parameter has been used to determine values of apparent activation energy for two stages of the densification process. It is shown that the formation of unstable phases and solid solutions upon the ceramics firing has a significant effect on the densification mechanism.
