Investigation of water droplets, kerosene and ethanol deformation in the air

Abstract

Experimental investigation of liquid droplets deformation features during motion through the air with velocities up to 5 m/s was executed. Typical liquids (water, kerosene, ethanol) were observed. More than ten successive "strain cycles" were investigated during the droplets motions of the 1m distance thought the air. Characteristics times of droplet changes from form to form, and possible "deformation modes" were determined.
