Investigation of structure and properties of nickel powder coatings after partial fusion

Abstract

Effect of plasma and electron-beam melting on structure and phase composition of sputtered nickel powder coatings has been investigated. It is shown that coating may have the structure of two types after melting: with fine precipitates of second phase and without it. The structure changes lead to increasing hardness and wear resistance of the coatings at simultaneous retain of high values of microhardness.
