Abstract
Linear stability of a liquid film moving on the surface of an oblique plate under the action of gravity and a turbulent gas stream was studied using an integral method and the Orr-Sommerfeld equation. The effect of the gas stream on the film motion is described by tangential and normal stresses acting on the free surface. The stress fluctuations are determined using a quasilaminar model. Both cocurrent and countercurrent phase motions at an arbitrary substrate orientation are considered.
