Abstract
A model of initiation of the decomposition of liquid hydrocarbon in the vicinity of a single particle heated by microwave radiation is proposed. An analytical dependence of the critical particle size on the power density, the pulse duration of the microwave generator, and the ratios of the heat capacities and densities of the particles and reactant is obtained numerically.
