Abstract

The authors give results of a study on the influence of conditions for the heating of drill blanks before rolling on the structure and properties developed in the finished drills. A theoretical basis is provided for using preliminary thermomechanical treatment (PTMT) in view of the results obtained during an investigation of austenite recrystallization.
