Influence of combustion in the vicinity of absorbing inclusions on the laser ignition of a condensed medium

Abstract

The numerical solution of the problem of the ignition of a condensed transparent medium by a pulsed light flux heating an absorbing inert inclusion is given. It is shown that when the energy reserve in the source becomes the limiting condition of ignition it is necessary to take account of combustion. The energy reserve in the source required for ignition must be finite even when the zone dimensions and the time of energy input tend to zero.
