Abstract

The damage of dielectrics with inhomogeneous submicroscopic structure under long term voltage application was studied. The influence of inhomogeneity of the low density polyethylene (LDPE) structure on the number of impulses to breakdown was studied. The analysis showed that modification of the density function of number of impulses to breakdown depended on the absorbed dose, proton free length path and submicroscopic structure.
