Abstract
The high-resolution infrared spectrum of CHD3 has been measured on a Fourier transform spectrometer and analyzed in the region of the 2v5 hybrid absorption band, 2450-2810 cm-1. Anomalously small A1-A2 splittings of energy levels (J, K = 1, A1,2) and anomalously large A1-A2 splittings of energy levels (J, K = 2, A1,2) in the E-type subband were observed. Energy levels were also observed for J ≥ 16 splittings of (J, K = 4, A1,2). These and other effects were described by strong Coriolis interactions between A1-and E-type vibrational subbands. A corresponding Hamiltonian model is derived. It reproduces the initial experimental data (Jmax = 22, Kmax a = 22) with mean accuracy 2.7 × 10-4 cm-1, which is not far from experimental uncertainties.
