Abstract
Linear response of a quasi-one-dimensional conductor in Peierls state to a high frequency (ω α 2Δ, 2Δ is the Peierls gap) electric field directed at an arbitrary angle θ to the chain direction is calculated. Plasmon frequency decreases with θ increasing, the large damping of plasmons appearing when their frequency approaches 2Δ.
