Abstract

The investigation of the heat and mass transfer in absorption, desorption, condensation and evaporation in the entrance region of the falling axisymmetric semi-infinite film surrounded by the pure vapour is presented. The self-similar solutions for temperature and concentration in the film have been obtained. The corrections, which take into account a change in the film thickness due to the mass inflow in absorption and condensation processes and the mass loss due to desorption and evaporation have been derived.
