Grafting of monoethanolamine vinyl ether and N-vinylpyrrolidone onto polyethylene films under the action of accelerated electrons

Abstract

Grafting of monoethanolamine vinyl ether and N-vinylpyrrolidone onto PE films under the action of accelerated electrons was studied. Properties of the as-modified films were investigated. It was shown that the hydrophilicity of films increases with a rise in the grafting degree. Sorption of Cu2+ ions from solutions by grafted films at various pH values was examined. It was found, that monomer units of monoethanolamine vinyl ether play a decisive role in this process.
