Abstract
Existing criteria for evaluating the shaping in glass charges from the plasticity or chemical composition do not incorporate the time factor and all the various physicochemical processes occurring in the moistened charge on consolidation, which restricts the scope for controlling how the process affects the granulate quality and equipment throughput. Criteria for that purpose on the basis of the physicochemical changes occurring on moistening are proposed.
