GIT8 long conduction POS operation at 5 MA current level

    Abstract

    The study about the POS technology on GIT8 which was previously reported suffered several problems. To avoid these problems a new POS design called the PSIPS was developed. Its first version was studied on GIT4. Recently, in order to achieve a better performance, PSIPS was studied on GIT8. It was observed that an improved opening into small impedance load is possible with the recent model. The results of this PSIPS operation at 5 MA current level was also considered.
