Abstract
This paper presents experimental results on the shot pulse (< 20 ns) γ-ray generation. The experiments were carried out on the MIG facility, which consists of 240 kJ high voltage linear pulse transformer (LPT), two water lines, vacuum inductive energy storage (IES), plasma opening switch (POS) and diode. The POS parameters have been experimentaly optimized to achieve the maximum POS impedance and coupling with the parameters of initial storage and the electron diode load. The record γ-ray radiation parameters for this type of accelerators, and nearly absolutely ones, were obtained: dose power (1÷2)×10 13 R/s on 2÷3 cm 2 and 10 12 R/s on 100 cm 2 at the downstream face of the bremsstrahlung target.
