Gas-chromatographic separation of enantiomers of amino acid trimethylsilyl derivatives on a chelate-containing immobile phase

Abstract

The chromatographic properties of zirconium(IV) acetylacetonate with grafted L-arginine were studied. The thermodynamic parameters of the retention of enantiomers of trimethylsilyl derivatives of amino acids on this stationary phase were determined. It was shown that the energy difference of sorbate-sorbent complexation is high enough to separate racemic mixtures.
