Abstract
The fractal dimension D of the surface of porous ceramic materials has been determined. The dependence of D on the total porous space volume exhibits two bending points, which reflects a change in the character of porosity on the passage from isolated pores to connected pore clusters and to very large pores with smooth boundaries. This behavior reveals a correlation between the fractal dimension and some well-known features in the properties of porous solids.
