Formation of wear-resistant austenitic coatings with controlled carbide strengthening

Abstract

The structure, phase composition and wear resistance of austenitic coatings with carbides have been investigated. It is established that in the process of surfacing and aging a homogeneous dispersion-strengthened structure with multimode size distribution of strengthening particles is formed in the volume of strengthened layer. Microhardness and wear resistance of the coating increase in 1,5-2 times as compared with initial structure ones.
