Abstract
This article discusses reasons leading to formation of highly viscous component in linear alkylbenzenes sulphonation reactor of alkylbenzene sulphuric acid production. It was found that highly viscous homologs of tetralin are formed in aromatic compounds dealkylation reactions with subsequent polymerization of alkenes. Infringement of mixture viscosity negatively the affects the uniformity of sulphonation process and reduces the quality of target product.
