First high resolution analysis of the 3v(1) band of (SO2)-S-34-O-16

Abstract

The Fourier spectrum of the very weak 3ν1 band of 34S16O2 was recorded for the first time in the region 3350-3470 cm-1 and theoretically analyzed. About 800 transitions with maximum values of quantum numbers Jmax.=49 and Kamax.=14 were assigned in the experimental spectrum. The 333 ro-vibrational energies of the (300) vibrational state were obtained on that basis which were used then in the weighted least square fit of the parameters of the effective Hamiltonian of the (300) state. Parameters obtained from the fit reproduce the initial experimental data with the drms=2.9×10-4 cm-1, which is close to experimental uncertainties.
