Abstract
The plasmochemical preparation of the fine powders of zirconium dioxide with an imbricate form of particles is studied. The optimal technological parameters of the process are determined. The process includes the preparation of the colloid solutions by the addition of carboxylic acid to the nitric acid solution containing Zr and Y, plasmochemical decomposition of the colloid zirconium-yttrium solutions, and dry compaction of the powders without their preliminary treatment. The properties of the obtained ZrO2 ″imbricate″ powders are studied and compared with those of the powders having the spheric form of the particles. The stabilized ZrO2 powders that were obtained by the developed procedure can be used in the production of high-strength ceramics.
