Ferromagnetic microwire usage for magnetic tags

    Abstract

    The amplitudes of the electromagnetic harmonics of magnetic tags made from bistable Fe-Co-Si-B amorphous microwire with positive magnetostriction are studied as a function of the distance between the tag and the receiving coils. It is shown that the electromotive force signals generated by the magnetic tags of length 3-5 cm with magnetic core diameter 90-100 μm can be detected at the distances up to 50 cm from the receiving coils. The dependence of the amplitudes of the electromagnetic harmonics on the size of the receiving coil is investigated theoretically.
