Abstract
Multifunctional chromium-containing coatings are fabricated by method of electron-beam-assisted surfacing in atmospheric air. The structure of these built-up layers is determined along with detail analyzing of their chemical and phase compositions by methods of metallography, SEM of foils, XRD, and X-ray microanalysis. On the basis of this analysis, the suggestions are made concerning the nature of formation of such properties of coatings as hardness, wear proofness, corrosion stability and heat resistances.
