Abstract

Excitation of the TE11 mode in a triode with a virtual cathode is theoretically and experimentally studied. Structures of fields, resonance frequencies, excitation of electromagnetic waves, and energy transmission are considered. It is shown that, in planar-coaxial triodes with a virtual cathode, the TE11 single-mode generation is possible.
