Excess nonlinear conductivity of the boundary between regions with different CDW pinning strength

Abstract

o-TaS3 samples with rigid boundary between moving and pinned CDW were obtained by means of selective introduction of irradiation defects. Experiments with a set of voltage sensing probes show that conductivity of a region having a macroscopic length l ∼ 200 um near the boundary may considerably exceed conductivity outside the boundary region. IV-characteristics of the boundary regions are S-shaped under these conditions.
