Evaluation of separation factor of alkali metals in systems with liquid alloy of gallium

Abstract

Using thermodynamic data for binary Li-Ga and Na-Ga systems, the values of the activity coefficients, Gibbs energy and equilibrium potential for lithium and sodium in an infinite dilute solution with gallium at 313 K have been calculated. The value of the separation factor of lithium and sodium for the electrolyte solution - liquid gallium alloy exchange system was determined. The comparison of the calculated values with experiment was made.
