Evaluation of algorithms for automatic data extraction from digital holographic images of particles

Abstract

The procedures and algorithms providing a numerical implementation of the physical process of imagereconstruction from in-line particle holograms are discussed. The methods are proposed which allowfunctioning of this process in an automatic mode and ensure data processing and extraction from digitalparticle holograms in a form convenient for subsequent physical interpretation. The experimental results onrealization of these methods are presented, using digital holograms of plankton particles, air bubbles in water,and sand particles, obtained under laboratory conditions as examples.
