Abstract

The paper discusses the need for a new approach for engineering curriculum design. The methodology presented in this paper was developed at Tomsk Polytechnic University following modern trends in higher education quality assurance. The idea of the new approach is based on application of programme accreditation criteria to engineering curriculum design. The RAEE accreditation criteria harmonized with IEA Graduate Attributes and Professional Competencies and EUR-ACE Framework Standards are used. The methodology realizes outcomes-based approach for curriculum design as well.
