Abstract

To understand the ordering nature in the alloys of the transition elements one should know the d-band structure of an alloy. On the basis of literature analysis one can make a conclusion that the criterion by Yamashita et al is highly effective for evaluating the stability of the ordered structure in the alloys of the transition elements. The results of the systematic experimental investigations carried out by the authors and coworkers, which confirmed the validity of this criterion and the consequences resulting from it are presented. On the basis of the approach under consideration a number of familiar regularities of the ordering processes in the alloys of the transition elements are explained.
