Electron beam cladding by HSS R6M5 powder

Abstract

This paper presents a process for electron beam plasma cathode gun-assisted vacuum cladding by HSS R6M5 powder. The design of the electron source with a plasma cathode is described. The temperature range that affects the properties of the HSS R6M5 coating is established. The microstructure and phase state parameters of the clad HSS R6M5 are determined and their impact on the wear resistance of coatings explained.
