Electromagnetic nondestructive method of testing the runway quality

Abstract

A method of testing the runway quality on the basis of parameters of the electromagnetic response to an impact excitation is discussed. During operation, the reinforced concrete slabs used in the runway structure are subjected to mechanical loads. The proposed electromagnetic nondestructive method can be used for current testing of the technical state of a runway for the purpose of detecting hidden flaws. This makes it possible to carry out the repair works in proper time and hence increases the reliability of the runway operation.
