Abstract

Results are given for the electrochemical behavior of steel 12Kh18N10T irradiated by a pulsed electron beam.. The electrochemical behavior was studied by means of anodic polarization curves (1 mV/sec) in 1% HCl solution at room temperature. The results confirm the possibility of using nanosecond electron beams for alloying a surface layer of steels with the aim of increasing their corrosion resistance.
