Abstract

An XeCl laser excited by a self-sustained discharge emitted pulses of 1 mu sec duration. Microsecond pulses were obtained by pulsed excitation and it was found that an increase in the pulse duration did not reduce the efficiency of conversion of the energy deposited in the active medium.
