Abstract
Two methods of discharge initiation in conducting liquid are considered as they can be easily realized in electro-discharge procedures. A dielectric insert in the potential electrode is used in the first method and the second method uses the flowing charging current of a pulse generator capacitor battery through the working gap. The methods exert an effect on overheating instability forming around the potential electrode and allow to increase probability of breakdown in conducting media.
