Effect of titanium carbonitride and oxynitride nanoparticles on structure and mechanical properties of arc-surfaced coatings formed on 09Mn2Si steel

Abstract

In this study, the authors have analyzed the effect of nanosized particles of titanium carbonitride Ti-C-N and non-stoichiometric nitride TiN1-x on the structure and properties of coatings on 09Mn2Si steel formed by arc welding, utilizing MP-3 electrodes. It was shown, that adding of TiN1-x modifying powders into the weld pool effectively increased the fatigue durability and impact toughness at negative temperatures.
