Effect of structure of lead borosilicate glasses on glass properties

Abstract

The structure and physical chemical properties of three-component glasses of B2O3-SiO2-PbO system with 5-70% of PbO have been investigated. The results obtained indicate that the glass properties depend on the processes of differentiation and integration of structural elements due to the coordination transitions of boron and lead atoms as well as the type of phase transitions and glass chemical composition.
