Abstract
The effect of radiation - heat treatment with powerful ion beams on the wear resistance of hard alloys has been studied. The obtained data about the structural and phase state and the mechanophysical characteristics have been analyzed in order to determine the causes why modified high-speed materials promote wear resistance in cutting. It is shown that the radiation-heat treatment efficiency depends essentially on the regimes of ion beam action. Data on increasing the wear resistance of hard-alloy tools when cutting and turning different alloys are presented.
