Effect of nonconjugated chromophore interaction on the luminescence properties of bisindocarbocyanine dyes

Abstract

The effect of the interaction between the chromophores on the luminescence properties of biscyanines, in particular on the deactivation of the excited states of these molecules involving their triplet states is studied. The obtained results are compared with the parent dye V data containing a single chromophore. Unlike the absorption spectra the fluorescence spectra of biscyanines containing nonconjugated chromophores consists of only one long-wavelength band.
