Abstract
The results of a theoretical and experimental study of the character of fracturing of composites during their pulsed electric breakdown are presented. Two mechanisms are examined which provide a selective direction of fracture of inhomogeneous materials. A study of the character of fracture of inhomogeneous bodies during their pulsed electric breakdown and methods of regulating the process are of substantial interest in connection with the introduction of electrophysical methods of treating composite materials.
