Abstract

The wear resistance of Armco iron and steel 45 implanted with different ions has been studied. It is shown that changes in the acoustic behavior of a tribosystem due to the damping of volume acoustic oscillations and the suppression of surface acoustic oscillations owing ion implantation improve the metal wear resistance.
